Can money solve the Israeli-Hamas conflict?
On September 11, the Biden administration released $6 billion of Iranian money we had blocked, in order to facilitate the release of five American hostages.
Iran and Qatar and Hamas are in cahoots.
Biden did not intend for Hamas to murder and rape 1,000 people, and take a bunch of innocent Israelis hostages.
But that's what happened.
After the invasion of Israel, the Biden administration re-froze the money in Qatar.
What might work (just brain-storming here) is the U.S. and Israel and Iran sit down at a table. The $6 billion will be re-released. But that will only happen if...
1) All the Israeli hostages are released
2) Israel takes over the Gaza strip completely, all the land that Hamas is controlling is now Israel's again.
3) The people of Gaza who do not want to live under Israeli rule move to Iran.
4) All the Palestinians are given money that comes out of the Iranian billions that are unfrozen, to start their new life in Iran, or their new life in Israel
5) The families of the people in Israel who were butchered would also get money as well
6) war criminals are punished
I’m not sure if this would work at all of course
I think the Hamas attack was done to spike the Abraham accords and keep Saudi Arabia and others from recognizing Israel and normalizing relations.
It seems to me that if the U.S. was willing to release the Iranian $6 billion for five U.S. hostages
we ought to be willing to release the Iranian $6 billion (again) to avert a much worse war, to save a lot of lives, to give Israel a more secure area, and to give the Palestinians a chance at a better life in another place.
I don't know if any of this would work, obviously the Israeli-Palestine conflict has been unsolvable for my whole life.
